98. WHO OR WHAT ARE YOU DEPENDING ON?
(The Abundant Life Series – Batch 1)
Believing in Jesus and receiving him as Lord and Master over your life through faith means putting ALL (not 90%) of your trust in him, no matter what. Just like you would place all of your weight on a low reclining chair in full confidence that it will be strong enough to support all of your weight, the same is what God requires when he says that we are to believe in the Lordship of Jesus. We are to believe without reservation, speculation or inhibition.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life… He that believeth on Him is not condemned but he that believeth not is condemned already because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” (John 3:16)
How about you? What have you put your confidence in? What are you relying upon to get you to heaven? Is it faith in Jesus or something else?
You should note that your bank account, affiliations, connections, good works, the sabbath, Mary, achievements, position, politics, profession, influence, good looks, youth, family, friends, good health, gym membership, the pastor, your good name and the church you may be attending CANNOT save you.
Put your whole confidence and trust in Jesus by asking him to come into your life, to save you from your sins and to take over your life, ALL OF IT, completely.
He is reliable enough for you to put your complete trust in him, in every area of your life. If you don’t want to give him 100% Lordship over your life, then he will not accept any of it. It is all or nothing.
Let go of the reigns you have been holding on to so tightly and in FAITH, fully believing, ask him to take 100% control of EVERY AREA in your life. For, “…to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his FAITH is counted for righteousness.” (Romans 4:5)
