52. BRINGING GOD GLORY ON THE ROAD FROM BEING GLORIOUSLY SINGLE TO GRACIOUSLY MARRIED
(The Single Woman Series – Batch 2)
Ecclesiastes 3:1 states “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
At whatever stage you are in life, God wants to use you to bring honour and glory to his name. Would you allow him?
Your single years are the perfect years to mould and shape you into more of what he wants you to be. It also presents an opportunity for you to give to him your undivided attention, to grow in intimacy with him, his knowledge and his grace and to promote his awesome name, which he deserves.
When your season changes and he approves of you embarking upon a courtship, this too can be used to his honour and glory by you and your God-sent choosing to remain pure, denying self, spending time together in pray, Bible study and fasting and continuing to point each other to Christ.
Then, when you’ve gotten that ring and are jumping for joy because the man of your dreams has popped the question and you are engaged, even at this stage, you can point the glory to almighty God by letting others know that you did not obtain this wonderful blessing in your own strength but by God’s. Upon your lips should be no other refrain but “Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.” (Psalm 115:1)
Finally, when you walk down that altar and say “I Do”, you can use the Ceremony and the very day to give God thanks and to remember Him in a special way.
Then, when you leave as husband and wife, you can continue to use your relationship as a Ministry, by choosing to have a marriage that will be pleasing in the eyes of the Lord and serve as an example to those around you who are single, courting, engaged and on their way to the altar or are married as well.
In summary, as you would realize throughout your journey, singleness and love relationships are not about you or me. They are about God. He IS love and he wants to use you wherever you are to bring him glory.
