343. WHAT I WANT HIM TO THINK OF ME
(The Single Woman Series – Batch 6)
I sometimes find myself writing about the future spouse that I am still hoping, by faith and God’s grace, to meet. Sometimes, I write letters about myself to him and at other times, what I hope he turns out to be.
Today was one of those days. As I continue to wait on God to provide me with that special someone, I found myself typing again of my hopes and dreams in relation to the love of my life and this is what I wrote:
What I hope a God-sent man will think of me:
- I like her
- and I want to take care of her
- and be there for her
- and in so far as God enables me, protect her and help her.
- (And as things go deeper),
- I care for her
- and see her worth
- and so want to invest my life in hers.
- I enjoy her presence,
- admire her strengths,
- and am mindful about her challenges and weaknesses.
- Yet by the grace of God,
- my interest in her, which is for keeps,
- does not wane in the least.
- For her beauty,
- which God has enabled me to see,
- more than compensates for her flaws
- and her weaknesses mean
- that I can love her through prayer,
- which I know that she needs.
- Like Isaac interceded on behalf of his wife Rebekah,
- I will sincerely accept this role
- and have already been praying for her.
- For, I seek her welfare.
- I want to see her be all that God has intended for her to be
- and I want to be there for the journey.
- I desire to be with this lady, come what may,
- trusting the Lord to chart the ship.
- Once he is in it, then I am all for it.
- I want this woman as my wife.
- Like everyone else,
- she has some good, some bad and some ugly.
- Yet, I want all of her,
- for all of the rest of my life.
