152. THE DEVIL DWELLS IN ‘D’s
(The Faith Forum Series – Batch 3)
Now I have nothing against the letter D.
However, while thinking back on some of the things that I have been through in my life (many of which I still don’t understand and may never do), it dawned on me, that the devil, otherwise known as Satan or Lucifer, dwells and operates seemingly, through a whole lot of Ds!
Think about it:
He sends Deception, Deceit, Delusion and Detours, hoping to achieve Derailment, Disconnection, Detachment, Desertion, Desolation, Destitution, Disillusionment and Desperation.
He glories in Difficulty, Disappointment, Devastation and Disheartening news, longing for you to feel Dejected, Demotivated, Depressed, Despondent and Despaired.
He encourages Drama, Defamation, Distastefulness and Disdain, rejoicing in the end result of Dispute, Disagreement, Dissonance, Dissension, Discord, Differences, Divisiveness, Disunity, Divorce and inevitably DEATH.
Whenever you see these D things present, KNOW that the dEVIL, who is Diabolical is working overtime, to try to kill, steal and Destroy, your faith in Jesus, your future, your joy, your relationships (Churches, marriages, families, friendships), your dreams and your very existence.
One more thing: All these tactics have one thing in common: They are all DISTRACTIONS sent by the enemy to keep you off course from your God-given purpose. Focus!
Sadly, one of the main ways the devil achieves all of these Ds is by sending ‘Mr. Wrong’ or ‘Mr. Not Right For You’ (disguised as Mr. Right) into the lives of non-discerning women. Even those who have professed themselves to be daughters of the King and to know the Lord Jesus Christ, have also fallen into this trap, were Duped and can now attest that the results were Disastrous.
Anything the devil authors is Dangerous, Destructive, destined for failure and ends in Disaster.
The Word of God says:
- “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may Devour. Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To HIM be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (1 Peter 5:8-11).
Thankfully though, as Dismal as all of the devil’s operations may make us feel, it is comforting to know that there are Ds which the Lord operates through, to overthrow the works of the enemy.
God is mightier than all and when we ask him for help, the devil is powerless to prevent our DELIVERANCE. For, God gives us DISCERNMENT, DIRECTS our path and exercises his DOMINION.
