77. THAT IS WHY I WALK IN ROYALTY

Some people are in your life to oppress you but make no mistake, some are there to suppress you. Some will be open with their attacks and undermining but some will pretend to be in support of you, to be your friend and to care about you but yet, make subtle attempts to keep you down, to keep you hidden and to keep you from rising to do great exploits. Their true wish is to hinder you, to keep you beating up on yourself and walking around with a woe-is-me mentality and from you rising up boldly and confidently, to do all that God would have you to do and to be all that he wants you to be.

These people will smile to your face but the moment you decide to walk in your regal and God-given identity, you will notice that they get upset. It may be a comment you make verbally or on social media, like Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp. Whatever it may be, for those with a suppressive spirit, it will evoke a reaction. Such people will not at all be pleased. They will behave in such a manner, that it sends the message, “How dear you!”

It may shock you, as you walking in your Christ-given worth is a wonderful thing and absolutely none of their business but remember, “…we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12).

In short, their being upset at you for minding your own business and simply asserting the truth of who you are is of the devil. He is behind it.

The devil is up to his old tricks again and you are not ignorant of his devices. Imagine, in the Bible, he tried to inject doubt into the Lord Jesus Christ as to who he was, telling him, “If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread” and “If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down” (Matthew 4:3 and 6). Jesus Christ knowing that he was the Son of God and as part of the Godhead, also God the Son, the devil’s tactics did not work. The Lord simply asserted the truth and after the enemy’s third attempt, he was sent packing because he could not resist the truth of God’s Word.

In Nehemiah 2:17-20, when the people of God, the Jews, decided to build up the wall of Jerusalem and to no longer be a reproach, this attracted suppressive attacks from people who hated them and wanted to see them remain down perpetually.

Nehemiah stated of what he told the people and of the suppression that followed:

  • “Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work. But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it, they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king? Then answered I them, and said unto them, The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build: but ye have no portion, nor right, nor memorial, in Jerusalem.”

In Nehemiah 4:1-9, he continued:

  • “But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews. And he spake before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, What do these feeble Jews? will they fortify themselves? will they sacrifice? will they make an end in a day? will they revive the stones out of the heaps of the rubbish which are burned? Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build, if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.
  • Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity: And cover not their iniquity, and let not their sin be blotted out from before thee: for they have provoked thee to anger before the builders.
  • So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work. But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth, And conspired all of them together to come and to fight against Jerusalem, and to hinder it. NEVERTHELESS we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.”

Strengthening themselves in the Lord amidst all these suppressive efforts, the people continued to build and in Nehemiah 6:15-16, it reads:

  • “So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.”

The reality is, if you know Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, anytime you make the decision to pick up the pieces of your life by God’s grace and to no longer walk in reproach, low self-worth and sadness but to walk in your God-given identity, which is royal and to build up and encourage yourself in the Lord and to go forth boldly in him because you are accepted in the beloved, those who wish to see you kept down, will surface and those who wish you not to rise, will be wroth.

Some of these people may be in your family or even people that claim to have professed Christ and therefore claim to be fellow believers. Yet, all of God’s children are royal children and all of them have a regal identity because of the finished work of Jesus Christ, which they have believed on, by faith. They are ALL children of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and they are ALL of royal lineage. If these people who prefer you to be down, suppressed and silent are genuinely believers therefore, they should understand, as they should know first-hand, that they too are of royal pedigree.

You are not being prideful, you are not thinking of yourself more highly than you ought to think, which the Bible says you ought not to. You are simply stating that you belong to Jesus and because he is a King, that means that you are royal.

When people get upset with you for being assertive and admitting the truth of who you are therefore, which is undeniably and irreversibly a royal daughter of God, take notice. When you realize how valuable you are in Jesus Christ and you publish it and some people seem bothered by it, even those who seemed to have no issue with you before, take note. This kind of response is to be expected from those who are in the world and make it clear that they want nothing to do with Christianity. For, they are controlled by the evil one and are positioned as enemies of Christ. They therefore oppose all those who belong to him.

However, when people who claim to be part of the Lord’s Church behave in this way, know that some of them are not really saved but are imposters, planted by the enemy to look like Christians and to try to fit in, for his diabolical purposes. They therefore get angry whenever any of God’s children realize fully who they are and of how regally precious they are to him and decide to walk in their full stature. They would much prefer you walk around with low self-worth, insecurity, depression, guilt and shame, burdened by your present problems in life and the failures of your past.

It is important, as I wrote in another Article, to know your enemy. Take note of those who want to keep you down, to silence you and who want to see you approaching life with a low self-worth and overwhelmed mindset. Take note of those who irrationally seem irritated and upset, simply because you declare that you are a child of God and that because of Jesus, you are royalty. This has nothing to do with them but they are making it an issue and that is quite insightful.

Pray for them, that if peradventure any of them are saved, that they will let go of the jealousy, envy, comparison, low sense of self-worth and pettiness, that obviously enslaves them and that instead, like you, they will grow in their spiritual maturity in the Lord, to the point where they too recognize how regally precious they are.

Pray as well that those who are hating on you for stating that you are royalty and that you intend to walk in it because they are servants of satan, that they will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in their hearts, so that they too can pledge allegiance to the King and experience what it is like to be of noble lineage.

Irrespective though of whether these people, these suppressers want to throw you shade or an eye of disapproval or to frown as if to say, “Who does she think she is?”, continue, dear daughter of God, to walk boldly and radiantly and beautifully, in your God-given identity. You are royalty because GOD HAS MADE YOU SO AND HOW DARE THEY HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT! You are destined for a royal inheritance and are very special and they can’t do anything about that. You were regenerated to shine and by the grace of God, that is what you should do.

Matthew 5:14-16 states to all royal and regenerated children of God:

  • “Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

After years of people wickedly trying to pull me down, to bully me, to make me feel bad about myself and to hate myself, to silence and suppress me, to convince me that I have no worth or significance in life, would never amount to anything, had no right to be alive was nothing but useless scum, God intervened, picked me up from where I was and taught me the truth from his Word. He taught me who I was in HIM and convinced me of how precious I was to HIM. Today therefore, to the annoyance of those who position themselves as my enemies when they see me shine and beautifully, when I consider how far the Lord has brought me and the pain I’ve been through, I boldly declare and without apology:

Regality courses through my veins because my heavenly Father is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Now you know. That is why I walk in royalty.
